Coffee sourcing from India for Germany.
Prepare an Indian coffee enquiry for green coffee for roasting or importing in Germany.
Build your product brief
Include species, preparation, physical specification, harvest and available cup assessment. Compare a proposed lot rather than a country-level product description. Include your importing team’s documentation requirements and specify whether the coffee will be roasted by your business or supplied onward.
Prepare the destination review
Share the proposed quantity, packing, delivery destination and required product tests or documentation. The importer or appointed adviser should establish requirements for the specific product. A sourcing discussion does not confirm certification, label compliance or an import permission.
Discuss the proposed supply
Valora reviews coffee and packing requirements with business buyers. Availability, samples, minimum quantities and commercial arrangements are confirmed individually. State your planned timing so it can be discussed without assuming a shipment commitment.
Two different German purchasing discussions
Germany’s coffee market includes conventional roasting as well as specialty and certified segments. CBI’s Arabica market study, updated 31 August 2026, identifies Germany and Italy as the main European Arabica-importing markets and highlights Germany’s certified and specialty demand. That context does not mean every German buyer wants a specialty lot, or that a proposed Valora lot carries a certification. CBI Arabica market study.
For a conventional roaster or importer, start with the proposed species, processing, physical preparation, quantity and roast or blend role. For a specialty discussion, add lot identity, the available cup-assessment details and the traceability information your evaluation needs. Keep commercial grades and sensory assessment separate so the proposed coffee can be compared on a clear basis.
A buying brief for green coffee
| Decision | Information to provide | Confirmation to request |
|---|---|---|
| Product fit | Species, preparation and roast/blend role | Proposed lot and physical specification |
| Evaluation | Sample purpose and assessment method | Whether the sample represents the supply lot |
| Evidence | Required origin, traceability and test information | What supports this particular proposal |
| Supply | Quantity, packing and importing destination | Availability and commercial basis for the enquiry |
Send an existing specification if you already buy Indian coffee against one. If you are exploring a new origin or preparation, explain the product role you want it to perform. Do not infer that a general Karnataka or Indian origin description proves the identity of the lot being proposed.
If certified supply is part of your purchasing policy, identify the exact requirement and ask for product-specific evidence. A broad sustainability story is different from a verified certificate or a completed destination review. Valora confirms the available information for the proposed supply rather than applying an unverified claim across its range.
Prepare your importing review
CBI separates mandatory market-entry requirements, additional company requirements and niche-market certification requirements. Keep these parts of your review distinct. Ask your importing team to specify the product information, traceability, tests and documents it needs before a purchasing decision. CBI European Arabica market-entry overview.
Confirm applicable requirements and responsibility for reviewing them with your importer or appointed adviser. The required information depends on the actual product and supply chain. This page prepares the sourcing discussion; it does not confirm a Valora lot’s certification or legal eligibility.
